Scout Sunday
at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church

Mass will begin at 12:15 p.m.

All Scouts in full uniform are invited to meet at 12:00 noon in the Narthex where we will line up for the procession.  Scouts will then sit with their families.

Remember to wear your "CLASS A" Scout Uniform (no hats).

Scouts who are altar servers and lectors will need to arrive by 11:45am . Father wants the lectors to practice in the church prior to the mass on Sunday.  A representative from scouts (Ms. Mary Uhrik)  will be there to make sure we get everyone set up.

Scouts who are greeters and ushers will need to arrive by 11:45am as well. The ushers will receive a brief course on handling the ushering and collection.

Religious medals will be awarded to Scouts after Mass.  Please stay and join us for a reception after the award ceremony.

Message from George Grindstaff, Pack 1134 Committee Chairman

Scout Sunday will be celebrated at the 12:15 Mass at St. Peter Chanel on Sunday, February 28th.  All Scouts affiliated with SPC and Queen of Angels are invited to participate and, after the Mass, there will be an awards ceremony for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts who have earned their religious emblems.

We hope to staff the Mass with Scouts and leaders who participate in the appropriate ministries at SPC.  In particular, we need Scouts who are regular altar servers at SPC to volunteer to serve for the Mass, and we also need ushers to serve as greeters and assist the regular ushers.  Webelos Scouts who are SPC-trained as altar servers or who are interested in serving as ushers should contact Mary Uhrik, the Scout Sunday Chair for Pack 1134, at  muhrik@gmail.com

Adults who are interested in serving as a lector or Eucharistic Minister should also contact Mary.  Again, volunteers should be regular participants in these ministries at SPC.  Scout leaders should wear their Class A uniforms if serving.

We will provide the names of volunteers to the appropriate ministries at SPC and will advise you of those who are selected.  Please respond as soon as possible so that the schedule can be formulated.
